Fresh Light
Fresh Light

Fresh Light - the book presents bright colours and spontaneous compositions, an imaginary spiritual creation that is both intimate and contemplative. Traces of internal journeys are revealed on the threshold of the visible world and the invisible, a gift of happiness capturing the colours of the world. Fields of wild fennel and Cypress trees planted in windbreaks act as a gateway for the soul, at the border of paradise. An invitation to be surprised by what I have created.

Yosef Joseph Yaakov Dadoune’s notebook is a travel diary: each drawing was made at a place where he was sojourning, while on "holiday.” Dadoune uses pastel to create the physical aspect of accumulated material. Pastel remains constantly alive: even when fixed, it never leaves its own unsettled aspect. This notebook, albeit not produced in the artist's routine workplace, is his paradoxical studio. It is where things that will later further develop throughout his practice are invented, defined, redefined.
