Consolation

The participating artists, all friends of David Adika, were invited by him to create a photographic work that would be comforting and make the viewer feel good. They were asked to use the medium of photography, even though in most cases this is not their main field of activity. Adika himself sees his role in this exhibition as that of a host inviting his friends to a social event rather than as that of a curator.
The idea of holding this exhibition in the Gallery came up after another exhibition, which Adika was supposed to curate jointly with a French photographer and a Moroccan writer, was canceled by them in the wake of the Cast Iron operation in Gaza. Hence the need for “Consolation”…
The exhibition text will be written as a dialogue between the artists once the exhibition opens, as the works are being created especially for this exhibition.
